Dissemination of iCREATE Experiential Learning Project results

On July 29, 2025, an event was held at the Faculty of Medicine of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) where Public Health and Epidemiology PhD student, Tornike Batavani, presented the results of the research project: “Occupational safety and injuries in the construction industry in Georgia”.

 

The event was held in a hybrid format and it was attended by the TSU academic staff, public health students and alumni.

 

The iCREATE project is dedicated to increasing capacity for injury research in Eastern Europe and it is funded by the NIH-Fogarty International Trauma Training Program at the University of Iowa. The research study by the PhD student Tornike Batavani was done as a part of the iCREATE experiential learning project (ELP). Prof. Nino Chikhladze from the TSU and Prof. Jonathan A. Davis from the University of Iowa were also participating in the research.

During the event, the key findings of the study were presented, while also discussing the current challenges and future activities.

The presentation generated great level of interest among the attendees and received positive feedback from them.
